In this course, students learn about the basics of filming and film editing. Students learn to apply cinematic techniques such as camera movements: the pan, the tilt, and the dolly, as well as how to incorporate camera angles such as the subjective, the over-the-shoulder, and the bird's eye view.
We study the history of film at the turn of the 20th century with Alice Guy-Blache and George Melies, all the way up to the development of Pixar and the modern use of computer graphic imagery (CGI).
